What “best” means in these guides
The word best describes a search for an appropriate fit, not a verified universal winner. Numbered entries are an editorial presentation order. No points, star ratings or measured superiority claims are assigned. A reader’s assessment, needs, preferences and access can make a different option more suitable.
Inclusion criteria
A listed organization must have an identifiable public website and a relevant published service or broader clinical pathway. Comparisons describe its location and distinguish community support, outpatient care, specialist information and residential treatment. A general mental-health programme is not automatically described as a dedicated grief service.
Questions used for comparison
- What service does the organization actually describe, and where is it delivered?
- Is the reader looking for companionship, grief-focused therapy or more intensive care?
- What credentials, clinical responsibility and emergency arrangements should be verified?
- How would language, accessibility, privacy and family involvement be handled?
- What continuing-care plan would work where the reader lives?
Geography and international options
Geographic comparisons identify where each service is delivered. The UK guide includes THE BALANCE as an option for UK clients, distinguishing London assessment and continuing care from residential treatment in Mallorca or Zurich. THE BALANCE is presented separately on US geographic pages as an international option in Mallorca or Zurich. It has no number in those US shortlists. A coordination office or telephone number does not make an overseas residence a local facility.
COGNIFUL is described as a Mallorca programme and is not listed as a Swiss or US centre. A provider’s different locations are not assumed to offer identical services.
Limits of the research
This edition relies on public information, not site inspections, regulatory investigations, interviews or independent outcome audits. Availability and programme details may change. Provider descriptions should be treated as information to verify. No programme is guaranteed to accept a particular person or provide a specific grief intervention.
What is not inferred
Luxury accommodation, cost, media visibility and testimonials do not establish better clinical results. A source supporting a therapeutic approach does not prove that a listed programme delivers it with the same fidelity or outcomes. Readers should obtain an individual assessment and written programme details before committing.
Reporting an issue
Use the corrections form to identify an inaccurate location, changed service, broken link or unsupported claim. Include a source when possible, but do not submit private patient information.
