This privacy policy explains how information is handled when you visit griefinfo.org or send a report through our corrections form. The site collects limited information to deliver its pages, protect the service and review reports.

Who this policy covers
GriefInfo is an educational publication about grief, bereavement and support. This policy covers this website and its on-site corrections form. Treatment providers and other organizations linked from our articles operate their own services and have their own privacy policies.
Reading an article or following a provider link does not create a patient relationship with GriefInfo. We do not offer clinical intake, private treatment consultations or a patient portal.
Information handled when you visit
Your browser sends technical information needed to request a page. This can include an IP address, the requested address, browser information, the time of a request and referring-page information permitted by your browser. Hosting and security systems may record this information in technical logs to operate the website, investigate errors and prevent misuse.
If you use site search, your search terms appear in the requested address and may therefore be included in technical logs. Avoid entering names, medical records or other sensitive personal details into search.
Information you send through the corrections form
The corrections form asks for a GriefInfo page address and a short message explaining an issue. It does not ask for your name, email address or medical history. The saved report includes the page address, message and submission time. Any personal information you choose to write in the message becomes part of the report.
Reports are stored as private records in the website’s WordPress system for authorized site administrators to review. They are not published as comments. The form does not send your report to a treatment provider or subscribe you to a mailing list. It does not provide an individual reply.
Please leave out patient information, diagnoses, medical documents, passwords and private details about anyone else. A public source link and a description of the issue are usually enough for an editorial correction.
Spam prevention and security
To limit repeated submissions, the form creates a temporary keyed representation of the connection’s IP address and stores a submission count against it. This is separate from the correction report; the form does not add the original IP address to your report.
The rate-limit check expires 15 minutes after the last accepted submission from that connection. Expired records may remain in storage until WordPress performs its routine cleanup. Hosting or security logs may separately contain the original IP address.
Access to correction records is restricted to authorized administrators. No website can promise absolute security, so use the form only for the limited information needed to describe a website issue.
Cookies, analytics and website assets
The current public pages do not include advertising trackers, analytics tags or embedded third-party media. The site serves its own styling, scripts and branding, and uses your device’s system fonts.
WordPress uses authentication cookies for signed-in administrators. Hosting, caching and security functions may use technical storage needed to operate the service. These functions are separate from advertising or behavioural profiling.
You can manage or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking cookies may affect sign-in or other functions that depend on them. If the site introduces analytics, advertising, additional forms or embedded services, this policy will need to reflect the resulting data handling.
How information is used and who can access it
Technical information supports page delivery, reliability and abuse prevention. Correction reports support editorial review and investigation of factual, accessibility, link or privacy concerns.
Authorized administrators can access reports. Providers responsible for hosting, storage, security or technical maintenance may have access to information within the systems they operate. The corrections form itself does not transmit submissions to an external messaging, marketing or clinical-intake service.
How long information is kept
Correction reports remain in the site’s private records until an administrator removes them; there is currently no automatic deletion schedule for those reports. The temporary spam-prevention check has the shorter expiry described above. Technical logs and any hosting backups follow the retention settings of the systems that hold them.
Do not assume a submitted report will disappear after it has been reviewed. If you want to raise a concern about a previous submission, use the privacy-contact process below and include only enough context to locate it.

When you follow a link to another organization, your browser connects to that organization’s website. The destination may receive connection details and referring information according to your browser settings, and may use its own cookies or forms.
A provider link does not send a treatment enquiry through GriefInfo. Before sharing health or payment information elsewhere, check that organization’s identity, privacy policy and contact details.
Your choices and privacy concerns
You can read the public guidance without submitting a correction. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to request access to, correction or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain uses. These rights can depend on the circumstances and on whether the information can be identified.
Use the on-site form to raise a website privacy concern. Enter this privacy page’s address and explain the issue without including sensitive documents. For a concern about an earlier report, its approximate submission time, page address and a short non-sensitive excerpt may help an administrator locate it.
The form has no reply field, so it cannot support a private exchange or confirm the outcome to you. Do not send identity documents through it. You may also seek guidance from the data-protection authority where you live; UK readers can consult the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Health questions and urgent help
The corrections form is not a route for health advice, treatment referrals or emergency support. Contact the relevant health professional directly for care. If someone is in immediate danger, use urgent local services.

Updates will be published on this page with a revised date. Check this policy before using a new form or feature, because the information involved may differ from an ordinary visit.
